  • tao for a monday, ‘chapter 22′

    Yield and overcome;
    Bend and be straight;
    Empty and be full;
    Wear out and be new;
    Have little and gain;
    Have much and be confused.

    Therefore the wise embrace the one
    And set an example to all.
    Not putting on a display,
    They shine forth.
    Not justifying themselves,
    They are distinguished.
    Not boasting,
    They receive recognition.
    Not bragging,
    They never falter.
    They do not quarrel,
    So no one quarrels with them.
    Therefore the ancients say, “Yield and overcome.”
    Is that an empty saying?
    Be really whole,
    And all things will come to you.

  • Darn hard to yield.  Still very chilly here between me & my boss.  I ate lunch in my car, where I had the company of grasses, wildflowers and birds.  I am much more at home there.  How do I learn to yield when I’m on the inside?  Keep these coming…they help.

  • @songoftheheart - i find it most interesting to stand back and watch others resist and what it brings them. it helps with my insights in to yielding. they seem to work so stressfully with little reward.  remember everything has its process. have you ever thought of working at a zoo or botanical garden? something out side.

  • @longshadow618 - I am ready to do something totally different.  Trying not to let those limiting voices stop me (you don’t have a degree, you’re 54 years old, you’ve never done that before).

  • @songoftheheart - that is part of our process, overcoming our ability to self limit. to gain a trust in a higher order. if we can state what it is we desire we can have it, we just need to be available for life to intercept us. so many times ive looked up and realized im right where i should be according to those things i desired.

  • @longshadow618 - I think what I ask these days is to help me see differently, to recognize something if it is in front of me.  I have no specific desire, other than to do something else.  How can the universe bring something to me if I can’t name it?
