  • friday morning tao, ‘chapter 29′

    Do you think you can take over the universe and improve it?
    I do not believe it can be done.

    The universe is sacred.
    You cannot improve it.
    If you try to change it, you will ruin it.
    If you try to hold it, you will lose it.

    So sometimes things are ahead and sometimes they are behind;
    Sometimes breathing is hard, sometimes it comes easily;
    Sometimes there is strength and sometimes weakness;
    Sometimes one is up and sometimes down.

    Therefore the sage avoids extremes, excesses, and complacency.

    how can one avoid extremes, complacency all at once? the way of the tao is hard to accomplish. : )

  • @be_the_rain - this chapter makes me think of the kite flyer.
    any extreme, whether its wind,string, tail or components of the kite all interventions interfere with the flying of it.
    simplicity,use what is called for, allow the wind to do its job and you do yours ,know when things are unbalanced and add that understanding to the tail of that kite, remember, too much tail can cut into your lift, dont pull so hard when you desire lift, a little more string and cooperating wind will do this.

    complacency is not doing your part in the balancing

  • hmm…still trying to grasp this and thank you for the explanation.

  • @be_the_rain - the universe is perfect, everything is in place nothing to acquire. its all there,
    we complicate things living under the assumption that we are separate,alien.

    in the tao, all things have a process they go through, all based on the principles of the tao.
    process and principle.

    this can be very entertaining, i have not been bored since understanding this.
    watch a thing or watch a process and find the principle behind it. ‘voila the tao’

    hugs

  • Balance…that is the key thing to remember, I think.  Thank you for the explanations,..they do help in understanding.  “We complicate things living under the assumption that we are separate,alien.”  Isn’t that the truth!  LOL!  It’s hard hanging on to the balance, the realization that we are all one with everything around us.  The times when I can truly grasp that don’t last long enough.

  • @songoftheheart - grasping the scope of it all in its relationship to us, is a lot to swallow.
    and no one drinks the ocean.

  • I love your artwork today! Love the blues and pinky-magentas!
    Good food for thought here. TY!
    But, I’d like to rule the universe! I think I could make it a fun place!
    Ha, I once wrote a post on how I’d run the country if I was president. Most people liked my ideas.

    HUGS and Happy Friday!

  • @longshadow618 - I loves avocados! When I lived in southern CA, a friend had trees so we got them for free. I got spoiled.

  • @AdamsWomanFell - i grew up on an avocado and lemon ranch, i know what you mean. i even went through a period of not liking them, but im back. the seeds could be smaller tho.

  • @longshadow618 - Ha on the seeds! Yah, less seed more green stuff! I like them just sliced to eat or on sandwiches or in salads…and I love da’ guacamole!

  • @AdamsWomanFell - and i make great guac.  ive baked them, they taste like butternut squash. i think ive eaten them every way imaginable. there good for your skin. and can darken a tan.

  • @longshadow618 - wow, I’ve never baked them…will have to try that!

  • @AdamsWomanFell - yeah, i was hungry, they weren’t ripe. i halved them butter salt and pepper, baked them untill a fork went in easy. it was an experiment in hunger management.

  • no one drinks the ocean.  :)   i actually understand this one.  especially after your tutelage.  dig the bubbles.

  • The sage is a universe in it’s own drawing energy from all around and retuning pure energy.  Great picture and it is such a good representation of the energy and power that flows between human and universe.
