  • that's disturbing.  need to look at that one in the light of day.

  • i think its beautiful and very vivid

  • it's a purple kind of day, whatever that means. : )

    ~ nice ~

  • he (although i suppose it's a she) feels silenced. and angry about it.  i don't know.. maybe it's the conflict between the celestial being in his head and the bald person (that i can't identify) clamping the mouth shut.
art's supposed to make you feel something right?  so it's ok that i see it differently and that it disturbs me, right?

  • @promisesunshine - It's ok to see what you see.  Each interprets the art based on their own life experiences.  It's interesting to see what others see.  You mention the bald guy clamping his mouth shut, I see someone sucking the breath out of him.  I see a couple of celestial beings.  It's always interesting to see how the use of color affects the interpretation...are there colors that make you feel conflict, combinations that are more disturbing?  I think I recognize this photo that Ed is using.  Perhaps the intensity of the stare is what makes it so disturbing to you?  And what kind of flame is Ed speaking of, one that consumes, or one that enlightens?  So much to see in his art at times, and each to experience it on their own.

  • @songoftheheart - sucking breath.  stealing voice.  they are similar ideas, i think.  yes. the flame.  obviously, i'd call it a consuming flame.  is it the purple?  if that bald dude was in some more peaceful color, would it disturb me as much?  i don't know.  and that neon x.  i hate to be silenced.  i'm glad to be quiet, of my own choosing.  but i hate to be silenced.  the photo reminds me of that amazing girl photo in national geographic, the famous one i should know the name of or something.

i have some issues this morning.  how delightful.  need to go look at blue.

thanks, by the way.  not sure why i'm so defensive too.  geez.

  • @promisesunshine - Laughing at your needing to go look at blue.  True, isn't it?  Blue brings calm and peace.  I never noticed the X.  See, sharing thoughts and interpretations is good.  Interesting thought, that it is someone being silenced.  Never thought of it that way.  I don't always see the bigger picture.

I certainly didn't take it as being defensive.  Sorry if I came off as someone telling you stuff you didn't need to hear!  LOL!  First day of class today?  I awoke to rain, which is now turning to snow.  I did not want to get out of bed today.  I'm just tired of my job.  So sad.  I had three emails from students who can't get the article information I sent to them, because they aren't doing it right.  I'm in no mood for instruction this morning.  My boss seems to be in a mood as well.  It will be a lovely day today!

Ed, we need blue and the Tao!!!

  • @songoftheheart - sigh, where is he.
we see what we see.  and i often see more than is there.
you didn't seem that way at all.  don't know where this all came from.

last week was first week of classes.  tuesdays are so freaking ugly.  long.  very long.

  • @songoftheheart - @promisesunshine - you two crack me up. you read so much more in to it than i intend. but keep it up. im enjoying it

  • @longshadow618 - All I know is this is the first day of the semester, and I need a vacation already!    Hey, at least there are no naked people in this pic!  At least, I haven't looked...didn't bother to mention the naked guy doing a handstand in the other one!  LOL!

  • I see naked white people!

And those eyes...I'd do whatever the person sporting those eyes told me to do!

    HUGS!

  • @AdamsWomanFell - now, there you go. i knew you would get it.

  • @longshadow618 - I REALLY like this one! It conjures up stories in my mind!

  • @songoftheheart - @promisesunshine - Hey, Chickies! I see naked white people in this one! And I want the brown-eyed-guy to rock my socks off! HUGS!

  • @AdamsWomanFell - The eyes are too intense for me, not inviting at all.  He's all yours!

  • @songoftheheart - Okay, I'll take him. I often like the eyes to say "Get over here, Woman!"

  • @AdamsWomanFell - he can't tell you anything.  he's been silenced!  by a purple thingy breath sucker.  still looking for the naked people.

  • @promisesunshine - hes not being silenced he is merely silent, his fingers are laced in a pensive manner, his hands become the object of his flame does that help, it helps to think about naked people, or be naked, which ever helps

  • @longshadow618 - so he's thinking hard about naked people?
and then there's the nice shiny thing there. doing that. you're right.  it does help to think about naked people.
